Tipperary firefighters dealing with large fire in row of houses

A number of units of Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service are dealing with a blaze at a row of derelict houses in Thurles.

Four houses caught fire this evening in an area known as the Old Student Village.

Tipperary County Council has said a number of units of the fire service are currently at the scene.

Fire crews from Thurles and Templemore, and an Hydraulic Platform from Nenagh station have attended the incident.

Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service have said firefighters are currently bringing the fire under control and have requested the public to please avoid the area.
