The cycle has been named “4 days in September – A Tribute”.

The organising group, which is made up of various personnel from An Garda Síochána, National Ambulance Service and local Fire & Rescue Services all work closely with the Irish Coast Guard daily and many of them would have known personally, the five coast guard members who lost their lives.

A core group of cyclists and their support crew plan to cycle approximately 800km in 4 days in aid of 5 charities. Other cyclists are encouraged to join this event as they travel around Ireland averaging 200km per day. The cycle will leave Waterford Airport on the 8th of September at 09:00 and the cyclists will travel to the Irish Coast Guard Bases at Dublin Airport, Sligo Airport, Shannon Airport and return to Waterford Airport on Monday the 11th of September.
