Date Published : October 25th, 2014 Published By : adminA Text Alert scheme for a south Tipperary community has been launched by local Gardai and the Aherlow Kilross Community Council, at Lisvernane, County Tipperary.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Superintendent of the Tipperary Garda Division, Catherine Kehoe underlined how important it is that everyone in the community minds each other and keeps their eyes and ears open for suspicious activity.
The voluntary community group has been working for a few years helping people to install monitored alarms and lighting before establishing the text alert scheme.
Muintir na Tire’s CEO Neil Garvey was also present at the launch. He said “The Text Alert launch today confirms how the local communities are looking out for each other and keeping crime at bay”.
