There is huge interest in CFR schemes, and as a result Ireland is that much a safer place as a result.

Respond2016, together with the National Ambulance Service are working together to expand the number of linked CFR schemes in Ireland. Both parties have agreed a framework which will help to support this.

The CFR is also collaborating with PHECC, the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council, the Irish Heart Foundation and Dublin Fire Brigade.

Today’s conference will include speakers, workshops and demonstrations. Dr. Menses of CFR Ireland and Martin Dunne, Director of the National Ambulance Service opened the conference this morning and welcomed delegates.

Other speakers include John Fitzgerald (CFR Ireland), Professor Joe Galvin (IHF Mater Heart House), Eoghan Connolly (National Ambulance Service), Brigid Sinnott (IHF), Paul Traynor (Northern Ireland Ambulance Service), Professor Brian McNally (Emroy University, Georgia, USA), Andy O’ toole (NAS), RTÉ Sports broadcaster Michael Lyster, Ray Carney (DFB & PHECC) and Gavin Doyle & Richard Gleeson (NAS).
