Planning permission approved for €1m project for Fire Brigade training centre

Planning permission which allows work to commence on a €1 million project to build an extension to the current Training and Development Centre in Hacketstown, Co. Carlow has been approved by Carlow County Council.

Building work on the new facility is to begin in the coming weeks.

The new extension will include a new training tower, a drill yard, lecture room, a new fire fighter training ring and shower rooms is to begin in the coming weeks.

Carlow County Fire & Rescue Services current training and development centre is at the rear of Hacketstown fire station. The work is expected to last at least 12 months.
