Charitable donations can go along way for voluntary organisations.

Any donations, however big or small are always welcomed by organisations who depend on finances to keep their services afloat, which help to provide their service to the community they serve.

The Navan branch of the Order of Malta have thanked a local Councillor and a local craft store for their donations.

Councillor Eddie Fennessey, Meath County Council donated €500 and some vital PPE to the unit.

Local craft store, Crafty Cuts and Flying Ducks also donated face shields which they made for the Navan volunteers.

Navan Order of Malta said the funds from Cllr Fennessey will help fuel their vehicles and to buy well needed equipment. The unit also said without vital PPE and face shields such as the ones donated by craft store, their volunteers would not be able to carry out any community care or to attend upcoming duties.

Order of Malta units across Ireland, like many other organisations, have been active in the community over the past few months during the Covid-19 pandemic.
