Kilkenny firefighter arrested on suspicion of drink driving

Gardaí in Kilkenny arrested a firefighter on suspicion of drink driving.

The man was driving a fire appliance on the Callan road, Kilkenny when the vehicle was stopped by gardaí at a checkpoint at around 12.30am on Sunday morning last, over the bank holiday weekend.

Gardaí say a fixed charge penalty will issue in relation to the incident.
