The Gardai have unveiled a number of it’s new 2015 registered Garda patrol cars which they received as part of a €10m investment announced last year. The vehicles are Hyundai i30 estates and are expected to be issued to garda stations to serve communities around the country in the coming weeks.
These vehicles are part of a fleet of 370 new vehicles which An Garda Síochána are set to receive. Other vehicles include marked and unmarked cars and vans.
Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald said that the vehicles would help by “supporting Gardaí to tackle crime trends, both urban and rural, which are often carried out by highly-mobile gangs”.
