Coast Guard helicopter assists in missing person search in Waterford

Gardaí say they are concerned for the safety and whereabouts of a 39-year-old man, who was reported missing in Waterford last night.

A search continues this morning and is concentrated in the Tramore area and immediate coastal areas.

Gardaí are leading the search, after the man was reported missing at approximately 9.30pm last night. The Irish Coast Guard’s Waterford based rescue helicopter, Rescue 117, was engaged in the search last night.

Locals are also expected to join search teams and volunteers this morning.

Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for assistance and any information in relation to the man’s whereabouts. Gardaí can be contacted on 051-391620 or any garda station.
