Cavan towns first garda station open day

Members of the public are invited to visit the Garda Station open day in Cavan Town today.

This is Cavan's first open day and the public are welcome to tour the garda station and see all the vehicles, equipment and resources in use by gardaí in the Cavan Monaghan Division.

The open day started at 11am this morning and continues until 3pm.

Some of the National Garda Units in attendance are the Mounted Unit, Dog Unit, Sub Aqua and Water Unit and the Public Order Unit. The Regional Armed Support Unit will also be in attendance.

Many of the local gardaí will also be there and will be available for photos and selfies with members of the public.

Cavan Fire & Rescue Service will also be there while the Road Safety Authority will be based across the road at Cavan County Council grounds with the ‘Check it Fits’ team, the RSA interactive shuttle and Roll-over car.

Children dressed in garda uniforms will be entered a free competition.
