Cavan seeks tenders for new fire station

Cavan County Council is to seek tenders for the proposed new fire station in Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan.

The National Directorate for Fire & Emergency Management (NDFEM) confirmed to the council that it may proceed with the tender process.

The approval is subject to a maximum all-in contribution from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government of €1,109,463 under the Capital Programme.

Cavan Chief Fire Officer Noel O’ Reilly said: “Cavan County Fire Service has already commenced the necessary steps to facilitate the tendering process in accordance with the Department’s approval”.

Ballyjamesduff Fire Station is a one-bay station which houses a Volvo FL-250 Water Tender and a Ford Ranger 4x4 at its Percy French Park base, which is station number six in the 10-station county.
