Speaking to local media following the meeting on Tuesday night, Fianna Fáil TD Eugene Murphy said he would seek a meeting with the Chief Executive of Roscommon County Council to see what could be done to have the station operational again.
Roscommon’s Chief Fire Officer John Keane confirmed on January 20th that the station would close temporarily due to staff shortages as the remaining crew numbers fell below critical levels.
