Ambulance Paramedics in the greater Midland regions have voted to strike over plans to introduce a new roster system. NASRA, the National Ambulance Service Representative Association said a core rostering system would allow management to change rosters within a 24 hour period.This, according to NASRA may result in delayed response times as well as paramedics working beyond their agreed hours.
94% of ambulance personnel in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford have voted in favor of strike action.
